Sampling. Unless otherwise specified, finished portfolios shall be sampled and inspected in accordance with MIL-STD-105 for conformance to the construction, dimensions, workmanship and testing requirements herein. A lot shall be all portfolios submitted for inspection at one time, a sample unit shall be one complete portfolio. Any failure of any test shall fail the sample. Three portfolios from each lot shall be subjected to the drop test. Any failure of the drop test shall be grounds for rejection of the lot.
Dimensional examination. The portfolios shall be examined for defects in dimensions. The length and width dimensions shall be determined by measurements made on the outside of the portfolio. The expansion shall be measured on the outside of the portfolio between the outer edges, with the faces of the portfolio lying flat. The inspection level shall be S-2 and the acceptable quality level (AQL) 6.5 percent defective.
Visual inspection. The portfolios shall be examined for defects in color, material and workmanship as specified in Table I. The inspection level shall be S-3 with an AQL of 2.5 defects per hundred units for major defects and 6.5 defects per hundred units for total defects.
