COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BAG, MONEY
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to MIL-B-2340.
1. CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Classification. This commercial item description covers one type of commercial money bag that comes in colors as specified (see 2.1.6 and 5.2).
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction. The design and construction of the money bag shall be as specified herein. The bag shall be constructed of any of the specified materials and shall have a handle or carrying strap. The bag shall have a key operated tamper proof security system, and a minimum interior capacity of 1,300 to 3,000 cubic inches.
2.1.1 Body. The body may be fabricated from water repellent, puncture resistant cotton duck, nylon duck, texturized nylon duck, neoprene, genuine or artificial leather, urethane, vinyl, polyester, or a combination of these materials. The cotton duck and natural fabrics shall have a minimum weight of 18 ounces per square yard. The synthetic fabrics shall have a minimum weight of 12 ounces per square yard.
