COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BRIEFCASE, GENERAL PURPOSE
(ARTIFICIAL LEATHER)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in lieu of Federal Specification KK-B-650.
Either of the following manufacturer’s model numbers or equal that meet the additional characteristics are acceptable.

Salient characteristics:
Sizes. The finished dimensions of the cases shall be as follows:
Length. (Overall left to right at the bottom) minimum 18 inches.
Height. (Overall bottom to top at center, not including handle) 13-3/4 inches + 1 inch.
Width, closed. (Overall at the bottom center front to back) 4 inches + 1/2 inch.
Width, open. (Overall at top center) 8 inches + 1 inch.
The color of the case shall be brown, conforming to the manufacturer’s established commercial product.
Stay-open frame for full easy access to interior contents.
Two-full size interior dividers.
Nickel-plated or brass-plated hardware.
Vinyl-T Edging, (T-Rail).
Solid bottom heavy-duty construction.
Fully-lined fabric-supported vinyl material.
Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
